Student Workshop, The small scale, in combination with the Universal Design Practices Conference III_Design and Ergonomics, April 2019

After the conference, a workshop dedicated to 40 students of the degree course in Industrial Design will be organized at the Department of Architecture of Florence. The selected students include those who attend the second and third years, who have joined the initiative and who have a good knowledge of English language. The workshop is aimed at testing the Beta version of the game.

Students will be assisted by at least three professors and / or tutors, a technician of the hall, 1-2 computer technicians of the manufacturer of the software.
The workshop will take place in five days, divided into two working sessions and distributed between morning and afternoon. the first session includes an orientation phase to the themes of Universal Design and training of the game, the second a planning stage. 
The last afternoon will be devoted to the closure of the works and the production of a final document that gives specific instructions about additions and modifications to the software. The document will be shared and validated in a work session with the project partners.

Starting from the case study assigned to students, each session will address different aspects related to the use of the game, based on a checklist prepared in advance. Any reports made by students and annotations derived from their observation will also be recorded during the sessions. At the end of the experience it will be submitted to the students a questionnaire to record information about evaluation of use, pleasure, utility, and value of the learning experience.

The Universal Design Practices Conference III, organized by UNIFI, is scheduled in Florence in April 2019, combined with C6 and C11 workshop activities. 
The aim of the Conference is to generate a discussion on design practices and references to the principles of universal design. The objectives of the discussion with the project partner, are:
a) Sharing of good practices related to UD oriented activities; b) Discussing the design criteria of furniture and spatial organization; c) Identifying operational guidelines for the gaming software.
The C6 activity will take place in Florence in April 2019 after the conference E2 and the C11 activity. The workshop is dedicated to 40 students of the degree course in Industrial Design will be organized at the Department of Architecture.
